Vaisakhi

Pronounced “VA-sock-ee.” A spring harvest festival in Punjab that usually falls on April 13, the solar new year. For Sikhs, Vaisakhi marks the beginning of the Sikh new year and commemorates the founding of the Khalsa (spiritual sister- and brotherhood) in 1699. Also known as Baisakhi.
